How long does ceramic coating last?
GYEON Q² Infinite is backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty when installed by a certified applicator. With our 18-monthly approved maintenance schedule, this extends to an infinite warranty for the life of your ownership.
How much does ceramic coating cost?
At Glos Detailing, wheel ceramic coating starts from £180 and full vehicle ceramic coating from £800. Final pricing depends on vehicle size and paint condition at the time of inspection.
Does the car need to be machine polished before ceramic coating?
It depends on paint condition. New or very well-maintained cars may only need decontamination preparation. Vehicles with swirl marks, fine scratches or oxidation should receive a machine polish before coating to ensure the ceramic bonds to clean, defect-free paint rather than sealing imperfections in.
What is the difference between ceramic coating and wax?
Wax sits on top of the paint and washes off within weeks. Ceramic coating chemically bonds with the paintwork and, when correctly applied and maintained, provides protection that lasts years. It also offers significantly better hardness, UV resistance and chemical resistance than any wax product.
Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?
Yes – applying ceramic coating over PPF is recommended and common. The coating adds hydrophobic performance and gloss to the film’s surface while making it easier to clean and maintain. This combination is often considered the most comprehensive paint protection available.
